Used the pivot zip file to make some stick animations, saved them to my desktop. Unable to 'view' them from my desktop (computer cannot find program that will open them to view). Tried inside pivot- 'open animation' and it will show my desktop, but the icons/files for pivot I saved do not show up on that list. They DO show up on regular desktop but cannot open them. Anyone know where I'm going wrong?

Version two is the one you're using right now - with the ability to make your own stick figures, etc. Version 1 had stickman only.
The fighting pivots take ages and ages to make - and xiao xiao is generally a big influence.

News to Pivot people who want to draw onto them properly.....
I don't know if you know but you can open pivot animations into flash and then you can draw hair on them and stuff, you could problies make a weebl and bob animation on it with flash and get it right, but who says that you have to use flash, i just had an idea on how to do weebl and bob without flash, well unless i need it.

On pivot, click Save animation. Click the arrow by Save as type, and press gif. Then save it. To load one up, click Open animation, and find the file you saved. Once you have shown us this, I recommend posting on beginners and readin FAQ before you make anymore mistakes (eg. double posting, spamming.)

It's a bit way too jerky, try using more frames and moving the figure less in each to create a smoother ani.

Saying that, mine's a bit jerky too, especially the 'gunslinger' bit. And too fast. And it strangely skipped a few frames. Meh.

After looking at this thread, I remembered some old animations I never showed here (I think). This is the smaller and simpler one:

A simple gunshot test which came out very well. The first time it plays it's a bit jerky, but after that it runs smoothe.

The next one is much bigger and much older. I made it a full year ago, when the Olympics were going on. It's fucking massive, 1.28 Mb (1190 frames) and I can't find a site to host it. I've zipped up the .piv file and attached it here. Unzip it and open it in pivot. It takes about 30 seconds to load all the frames. It can be played at the default frame rate, although speeding it up a tad won't hurt. I know it's a hassle, but it's worth it, this is a really cool animation.

I've got absolutely nothing to do tomorrow, so I might make a new animation.

I made a video! i can't show ya cause it's like, four minutes long, but it's a weird fighty-movie thing. i play u2's 'elevation' in the background, and it's ace.
pivot is gonna keep me going all holiday. i've already experimented making the guy walk across the bottom of the screen, then fly in the air, do a flip-thing, and then walk opn the top of the screen.
i also made a wavy-bridge fall apart by editing the stick man into just a stick and using a bazillion of them all attached.
all in my first few days. i have big ambitions, people - never do things by halves. screw funny shapes, dawg - make conjoint-stickman twins do a cartwheel across the screen balancing another one on their legs.

If it wasn't for the fact that when I host them it completely ignores the repeat frame function, then this might have been half decent. Oh and it's a bit slow too.

And on the skipping frame note, I think I've worked a solution. If you look at the end of the pivot, the top-right pixel flashes. It seems to only skip frames that are repeated (e.g. the same frame one after the other.) So, if you have even just one pixel changing, it doesn't skip. As you can see from there being a pause at the end.

Boring, but at least it doesn't skip. ;)

It wasn't going to be about a dude who can't walk right, i just didn't move his legs 100% right.
Its also all in time as what it is meant to be :).
(Just do for each frame 1 of each and make it the right speed and when you save as gif delay it to 1/5)

The whole other stickman in the background a differnt color is only good for high speed not all the time, sometimes not even fast times.
And try to make them longer only really make them short if it is a short story or showing a new technique, thats why i started doing the adventures of crazy walk, i'm going to put speech bubbles in on flash so it will save time with pivot writing which takes a while.
