Err, Styks? :p

New program, read back a few pages if you wanna learn some more :)

No, I was implying that pivot is still better, by a long shot.

indeed it is. it just breaks when i open it so i gave up.
i click and drag, nothing happens.
i click new frame and nothing happens.
i right click and nothing happens.
then everything just works in the wrong order and he looks like
http://forums.weebls-stuff.com/picture.php?albumid=185&pictureid=1288
well, something like that :D

Wow... I'm sorry to hear you're having so much trouble! When you say "it just breaks when I open it" do you mean something happens when you start running the program? Do you get an error window like saying it "can't find libraries"? And are you running Vista?

(The reason I ask is that I've had a couple of reports of Stykz not working right in Vista and there's a simple method to get it to work if that's the case.)

If you'd rather PM me about this instead of respond here, that's fine with me. I really want to get this fixed before the official 1.0 release in April.

Thanks!

the most frustrating thing with stykz i have is that the stickman keeps overlapping the joints, so i have to move parts of the stickman to get to one joint.

in the end i get loads of shakiness

The segments overlapping the joints is the #1 complaint and will be fixed for the next beta release (due in a week or so). Not sure what you mean by "shakiness", though...

shakiness is where it moves in a different direction abruptly

heres and example:
http://i43.tinypic.com/a3iic8.jpg

the guy's legs in midair keeps shaking from side to side in the middle of the animation.

its harder on stykz because its hard to use techniques like duplicating the same stick figure and use the second stick figure as a basepoint to refer to with the onion skinning and to avoid shakiness and better foot placement

i bet your confused now :P

Actually, yes. :) I look at the GIF in Firefox and it looks fine; when I download it and examine the GIF frame by frame, it looks fine there as well. I'm wondering if it's some way that a particular browser is rendering it? You could also try an experiment and put in a large frame delay in the export (like 50) and see if you see the same issue in "slo-mo".

You *can* duplicate the same stick figure (select it and choose "Duplicate" form the Edit menu). But this duplicates the figure with an offset. If you want a clone that's exactly on top of the one you're working on, instead of Duplicate, use Copy/Paste.

i found a really cool bonus to pivot

its called beneton's movie gif.

and it helps edit all the animation and add cool effects to GiFs (not pivot files)

it can do cool effects,
FIX GIF RAPE!!!!
change the background
add custom colors
add extra frames to the animation

you should check this out

download link: http://www.download.com/Beneton-Movie-GIF/3000-2186_4-10566148.html

theres still some problems that i havnt found out yet, but its really catching on quickly :D

IMG code still requires you to post a link which you can't do until you've made 15 posts.

Instant blurring effects on stykz?
Neat.
Gradient backgrounds look a bit cheesy though.

Hello everyone, hadn't posted on this in ages so I decided to make an animation really fast. This took all of 10 minutes:

pivots can easily be reflected on how much time you put in, so, this one isnt so great as its kinda rushed

Here's something that I'm currently working on:
http://pimp.darkdemon.org/6861/1242744077.piv

This animation is in .piv format, because when you convert the animation into a .gif, the colours used in the animation get raped ):

This isn't finished yet, but it will be soon. All the .stk files are made by me, I don't use other peoples.

Nice pivots, as always. First looks good :D

Only two criticisms of the second KS, one being the uppercut, which doesn't seem to have enough force or follow-through and the second being the blood. It's...horrible, to be perfectly honest. Looks unrealistic, like it was drawn in paint and it doesn't move with his body properly when he falls. I like the glasses though, suppish as fuck.

Hey man, don't be so down on yourself. It might sound like something rubbish ad common to say to people, but keep practicing. If you post your animations, I'll kindly tell you what parts need to be improved on, what you done good, and etc.
