Does anyone play these series of games?

JK3 comes out on Friday, yet a "friend" of mine got hold of a pre-release. Completed it on dark and lightside. Anyone else done so already?

I haven't completed it, but I have been playing it off and on. All in all it's a pretty good game.

It's good, I don't want to say anything because I'm not good at keeping spoilers to myself. All I will say though is the double bladed saber is the best :-)

i've played the demo that was on my pc zone and i have jk2 i really cant wait for the next one it is supremely better to the last one especially with double sabers!

I have the demo, and I can say the game is ace. I will probably be pre - ordering the game today, when I get back from a friends house.

I will be spending most of my life on multiplayer though, and will probably set up a clan once I have the time.

Clan eh? Well I completed JK3 on a pre-release "backup" copy that I borrowed from a friend. Multiplayer seems cool enough, god only knows my brother lives on JK2 multiplayer.

I'd join a clan if you were to set one up. As long as I can have the two handed double bladed red saber it's all good :D

I only have the demo. Comes out tommorow for us U.S. folks. I've beaten the demo on all the difficulties and I still can't put it down....

jedi knight 3 is nothing short of disappointing. Why are they still using the same engine? Have they not noticed how dated it looks? The additional force powers are good but in the middle of a fight you're too busy trying to hack everything with your fooking lightsaber to use any of them, and if you get put in say, force grip, it takes like, 10 seconds for you to realise, find force push in your list, and use it. I like the way they actually tell you what the moves are this time though, instead of leaving all the good ones as a secret.

You do know that you can assign F keys? Basic defaults are.

F1 - Push
F2 - Pull
F3 - Speed
F4 - Seeing

Those are all embedded. If someone grips you, just hit F1. You can also assign extra's. I found F5 and F6 good for absorb and protect.

Hope that helps you enjoy the game more. I do agree, they should use a newer engine. But the latest engines, ie - The new Unreal, Half Life2 etc haven't been out long enough to get a re-develop done. Also, ID software get so much in royalties for the JK games. You can't argue with Lucas Arts "If it ain't broke don't fix it" policy and props to ID for writing such a good engine. It still looks good. Half Life2 will blow everything away. Shame I'm gonna need a new fricking computer by that time lol!

I was looking through the list when I stumbled upon weebls academy, so I came here looking for answers.

Oh dear it has as well.

I would set up a server, not a "dedicated server", but one just to have up probably from 5pm-9pm, but I don't know how.

Cheechy, if you're not too busy, perhaps could you tell me how you set up yours?

If the server is down now, its probably just crashed. The code isnt 100% stable on linux yet. I'll check/sort it after teh forums :)

I not keen on voting or changing game styles. Its been set up purely as a duel server with low limits. For other game styles it would need more player slots and a different config to run well. I personally dont like to do things by halves so please dont be changing styles to a 4 man ctf thing etc :(

Ked - In reply to your last question, its sommat that you can do pretty easily depending on your skill for whatever OS you're running it on. Its essentially the same as setting up a Quake3 server. Dedicated files for linux are freely available on teh interweb.

so here is the real question, I played and enjoyed JK2 like some crazy boy. I heard someone post earlier its on the same engine as the last one, I'm running with crap hardware, I can play the game on just above bare minimum requirements...is it worth the upgrade or should I wait for Half Life 2 and just hear about JK3
