The Horserace Thread

Welcome to the Horse Race thread! Pick a horse and place your bets!


Here's how it works:
1. You choose one of the horses
2. You pick either Win, Show, or Place
3. You bet the rupies and then await the outcome
(I'm using Hoyle Casino 5 to create each race, odds, and winner.)

Horses:
Mellow Yellow
Redneck Red
Purple Prancer
Bye Bye Blue
Giddy-up Green
(The game also named these horses. I didn't make them up)



If I run out of rupies, I'll be broken, and be left a miserable, failure-ridden man, plus I can't pay you. Please don't try
to make me run out of rupies. That makes nobody happy.

All bets must be through donations only.
(Please, when you send the rupies, in the donation description box put the race number in it. This makes it a lot easier.)

"To the right of each horse is a list of odds for win, show, and place. Odds will usually say something like "7 – 1" or "3 – 2". For a 7 – 1 bet, if the horse wins, for every dollar you put down, you will get seven dollars back. For example, if you place a 10 place bet on Bye Bye Blue and his place odds are 7 – 1 and he comes in either first or second, you will get back 70. The higher the odds, the less likely it is that the horse will come in first, second, or third."

Also, you can't bet a same win/show/place type bet on the same horse. ie: 20 on Purple prancer for win, and then another 5 for Purple Prancer on show. You can, however, bet the same type on multipile horses. ie: 5 on Redneck Red for win, and then 7 on Bye Bye Blue for win as well.

Here's an example bet:

"I'll put 15 rupies down on bye bye blue for place."

or

"Lemme bet 10 bucks on mellow yellow for the win, and 5 on purple prancer for show."

After the race is over, I'll announce the winner and distribute rupies accordingly.

The odds will change with each race, and I will post them before each new one. Make sure the odds are for the current race. I cannot be held respossible if you think the odds are different that what they actualy are.

When I announce "And they're off!!" that means that no further bets will be taken and
you'll have to wait till the next race.

Please, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

These rules might change as we go along, to fix anything

*note, I might be away for periods of time, but these are very rare. If I don't give results within the expected time, just wait pateintly. I reserve the right to cancel races and refund all rupies back. This is also something that will probaly never happen, but might. There will be intermissions between races that will vary.

I would have a bet but it all seems a bit strange to me...
Mellow Yellow wins at 5-1 so the next race they have him at 6-1.

That's because the game chooses the odds randomly for each horse after every race.

Oh, and I'll do it later tonight as some people still need to get their rupies in.
